Stephanie Bennett, LMSW, is a Licensed Mental Health Professional/Independent Contractor at Gilda’s Club Kansas City, facilitating educational classes and support groups virtually and in person at the clubhouse. Stephanie earned her Master of Social Work (MSW) from the University of Denver and works as a Mental Health Therapist at Ellie Mental Health in Overland Park, Kansas.

Stephanie has a particular interest in working with individuals impacted by cancer and other forms of chronic illness/injury. Prior to Gilda’s Club, Stephanie worked for several years at the University of Kansas Cancer Center, University of Colorado Cancer Center, and Craig Hospital using a strengths-based, person-in-environment approach informed by Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT).

When not providing mental health services, Stephanie enjoys spending time with her partner, Jay, and their two cats. She enjoys reading, traveling, and watching Netflix and the Kansas City Chiefs.
